Coding for Beginners /Intermediate

Students will learn to program games, stories and animations in this class. The students will use a programming language called Scratch. Scratch is a visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. This software has an object-oriented programming interface that uses blocks as scripts. This easy to use and user friendly interface makes learning Scratch easy and engaging. This class is designed to teach computational thinking using a simple but powerful building-block approach to software. The development of programming skills allows students to focus more on problem solving than on specific syntax. The students will learn the basics like: loops, if and or statements etc. Scratch is a phenomenal language developed for young coders and it promises to build a strong coding foundation for kids.
